It has been a while since actress-comedienne Pokwang has kept the public (and her fans) updated about her love life, particularly her relationship with American actor Lee O’ Brien.
Many may not believe it, but the 46-year-old has been dating the actor since 2015.
According to Philippine Star, they first met when they both starred in ‘Edsa Woolworth.’ The actress noted that after the whole cast and crew of the movie finished taping, they headed to Boracay. O’ Brien was included among the ones who went.
On January 20, they became a couple when O’ Brien kissed her three days after their excursion. She narrated: “Tapos doon ko nalaman, sinabi niya na alam mo ba first shooting day pa lang mayroon na siyang keme (feelings for me). Sinabi ko, ‘Ano tayo?’”
She continued: “Tapos, hinalikan niya ako, tapos sinabi niya gusto niya ako, masaya siya kapag nakikita niya ako kapag magkasama kami.”
Fast forward to 2017 and the couple is still staying strong and happily in love with each other, despite having encountered trials.
Philippine Entertainment Portal revealed that both of them have plans to marry each other soon.
However, they claimed that they’re not in a hurry especially at their current situation, particularly O’ Brien. He admitted that he has to financially prepare for the wedding.
Pokwang said the following in her latest interview with Boy Abunda: “Dumating yung mga parents nung January 29... Ayun po. Naintindihan ko naman yung nanay.”
She continued: “Kasi sabi niya, ‘Alam mo naman yung anak ko... Hindi naman kami ano... Hindi kami ganyan, ganyan.’ Pero nag-iipon po siya.”
Although Pokwang didn’t directly state it, she said that it would not be an issue for her if O’ Brien didn’t come from a well-off family. “Sabi ko nga sa kanya, hindi naman ako magarbong babae,” she said.
