[Trending Now] Sarah Geronimo Speaks About The Darna Role: “Wala akong boobs, anong magagawa natin?”

When the news about Angel Locsin dropping out of her Darna role broke out, many fans tried to suggest replacements. One of the names that made noise is Sarah Geronimo.

However, in an interview with ABS-CBN reporters, the Pop Queen dismissed the possibility of her taking the role. She personally took herself out of the list, giving concern over the heroine’s iconic figure and physique. 

“Wala akong boobs. Anong magagawa natin,” Sarah joked in an interview last Friday, March 24.

Sarah was very vocal about her hesitation to flaunt skin on cam. This is the primary reason why she refused to include her own name on the list of female celebrities who could succeed Angel Locsin.  

“Baka naman na-negative-an sila sa akin nung sinabi ko na, 'Eh, 'di wow! Gusto niyo ba makakita ng Darna na naka-jumpsuit?' Kasi matagal ko na po iyang sinasabi na hindi talaga iyon para sa akin kasi iconic iyong role,” Sarah added.

Sarah also considers taking the role as a huge responsibility. 

“But more than that, ang daming responsibilities na nakaakibat sa pagiging Darna. So medyo naka-focus lang din ng unti na ang inaabangan iyong naka-two piece, iyong physique. Parang hindi talaga po para sa akin,” Sarah claimed.

Despite her refusal, Sarah is still thankful that many fans think she can give justice to the Philippines’ most iconic superheroine.

“Pero nagpapasalamat naman ako at flattered naman ako na may mga kino-consider ako." Sarah said.

ABS-CBN also reported that there are many other projects in store for the singer/actress. Aside from an upcoming comeback film with actor John Lloyd Cruz, Sarah is also set to help aspiring singers win the title as she coaches for The Voice Philippines Teen Edition.
