The typical stereotype insinuates that drug peddlers are mostly poor-looking men with a sinister aura, mostly crooked and menacing. However, looks can really be deceiving.
On Tuesday, around 3 in the midnight, an innocent looking beautiful woman was arrested by police. The 22-year-old female suspect was nabbed during a drug buy-bust operation in Brgy. Kasing, kasing, Molo, Iloilo. According to the reports of RMN Iloilo, the suspect was identified as Lastin Joy Opao. Opao also uses the alias Khatte Opao.
The suspect is from Sibalom, Antique, says RMN Iloilo.
The police authorities were able to recover two sachets of what they suspect to be shabu from the woman. Currently, Opao is under the Molo police station's custody.
The online community voiced out their disapproval and frustration over the incident. Many reacted saying she could have applied for a more decent job and she could have had a better future. However, despite her involvement in the illegal drugs, some defended her saying no one knows the reason why she had to do what she did.
All in all, everyone is hoping that the young woman would be given an opportunity to live a better life and hopefully away from the illegal trade.
