Recently, a photo went viral around social media, showing a man and his daughters eating at the well known fast food chain, Jollibee. His two daughters were enjoying their meal, but the netizen who captured the priceless moment, Jhunnel Sarajan noticed how the father wasn't eating and was just watching the two.

The photo spread like wildfire and netizens noted how the photo perfectly captures the essence of fatherhood in its truest sense- sacrifice.  However, many were also curious about the story behind the photo. 

According to ABS-CBN, the family lives in a 4-square-meter shanty in a slum in Barangay 61, Tondo, Manila. Ryan Arebuabo, is a single parent to his two kids, Rose May and Rose Ann. His wife left him after he suffered a stroke 4 years ago. His sister Ria shared that he tried to win her back, but didn't succeed. 

"Alam niyo naman, karamihan sa mga lalaking na-i-stroke ay iniiwan ng asawa. Kawawa talaga 'yong kuya ko." Ria said.

"Siya, kahit ano pang masasamang marinig niya tungkol sa asawa niya, talagang gusto niyang mabuo 'yong pamilya niya. Tatlong beses nga niyang sinundan sa Bulacan 'yong asawa niya, pero wala talaga," she added.

He never had therapy sessions after the stroke and hasn't had a check-up in the last 3 years .

Despite this, he is striving to give his girls a good life. Their daily expenses in food and his daughter's education have been a constant struggle but Ryan is determined to persevere.

The day they were seen eating in the fast food chain, Ryan shared that they were celebrating Rose Mae's graduation from kindergarten.

 "Hindi na po ako kumain. Makita ko lang na busog sila, okay na ako,"he said.

Gusto ko lang makapagtapos sila sa pag-aaral. Kahit hirap akong magbasa, tinuturuan ko pa rin sila." he shared.

According to him, he wanted to prove to everyone that poverty or disabilities shouldn't be a hindrance to being a good father.

His story has garnered 12 thousand reactions from netizens. Most of them noted how Arebuabo should serve as an example to all the fathers out there.
