There is no doubt that dogs are man’s best friend. They’re usually the first animals that humans think of when they want to have pets in their homes because these animals are the most domesticated.
According to The Guardian, there is actually a reason why dogs have such a close connection to humans. In their report, scientists have found out that there are genes which are linked to the tendency for dogs do seek human contact.
Psychology Today also cited that dogs have the uncanny ability to be attuned to the emotional state of their owners. They are also extremely attentive and can predict what their owners can do. This makes them easy to be trained and domesticated.
According to Colin Groves of the Australian National University, "The human-dog relationship amounts to a very long lasting symbiosis.”
“Dogs acted as human's alarm systems, trackers, and hunting aides, garbage disposal facilities, hot water bottles, and children's guardians and playmates. Humans provided dogs with food and security.”
“The relationship was stable over 100,000 years or so, and intensified in the Holocene into mutual domestication. Humans domesticated dogs and dogs domesticated humans,” he continued.
In the partnership of dogs and humans, the source revealed that if humans relied on dogs for extra sensory acuity in hearing and smelling, then the dogs are able to rely on humans for thinking and other cognitive activities.

Although it cannot be verified if the owner is really a woman, it was evident that the dog was really heartbroken upon finding out that its owner died.
