Kapuso star Heart Evangelista proves that there is life after show business. Now the 32-year old wife of Sen. Chiz Escudero has expanded her horizons by pursuing her passion for the art.

Her hand-painted artwork has evolved from intricate flower paintings and dreamy female portraits on canvass to art on Hermes bags, Mark Burngarner gowns, and Philux furniture. In an interview with the Philippine Entertainment Portal, the actress still considers herself as a work in progress. Her works are currently on display at the SM Mega Fashion Hall in celebration of Women's Month.

Heart & Style by Love, which features Heart Evangelista's artwork at SM Mega Fashion Hall activity center will last until March 28. The art exhibit will provide an overview of the actresses' 2018 collection entitled Love Marie in Full Bloom. It will also showcase her hand-painted Hermes' bags. The event will also feature Heart's close collaboration with Mark Bumgarner, the designer who put together the wedding  dress that she wore in Balesin a couple of years ago.

The collaboration led to another event called When Art Meets Fashion. Initially, Heart Evangelista was afraid she might ruin the dress. "I was very nervous because I just painted on the gowns recently. It was an actual dress, he spent money for it, so I couldn't make a mistake." the actress said. When she painted on it, Bumgarner liked the design and they made 15 painted gowns for the show.

According to the actress, painting has given her another avenue for transforming her negative emotions or frustrations into something that brings out the best in her. Heart Evangelista said that she is just a normal person who experiences ups and downs. The Kapuso actress said that she is using her love for the art as a way to uplift herself.
