Two suspects were arrested on Monday night at Bangga, Puerto Princesa, Barotoc Viejo after allegedly raping a 22-year-old woman and stealing her boyfriend's car.
22-years-old Sirius Gim Villareal, a former seaman, and Raymond Vincent Cordero, a security guard from Janjuay town, were the main suspects of a crime in Iloilo. Reportedly, the two suspects and another unidentified man accosted a woman, 22, and her boyfriend, 21, at the mall carpark in Mandurriao District. The couple were about to enter the man's Ford Everest Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) when the men came.
According to the reports of Inquirer, Villareal and Cordero took turns sexually assaulting the woman inside the boyfriend's vehicle while he was forced to watch. Moments later, the two fled the scene with the female victim using the stolen SUV.
The suspect drove towards the 5th district. However, Villareal and Cordero's other accomplice was believed to have been dropped off in the town of Zaraga due to his refusal to be part of the crime, said Ajuy police Chief Insp. Charlie Sustento.
It was when the suspects stopped at a convenience store in Poblacion Banate in Barotac Viejo to buy a bottled water that the victim saw the chance to escape. The woman grabbed her chance and immediately asked for help.
The suspects were caught after the vehicle suffered a flat tire in Bangga Puerto Princesa, Barotac Viejo, said investigator SPO2 Bobby Gayagoy.
The two are currently detained at the police detention cell in Barotac Viejo for the charges that awaits them.
Villareal is believed to be a serial rapist and is wanted for past crimes of rape in 2015. On May 2015, Villareal allegedly raped a 19-year-old call center agent and a 36-year-old woman from Tigbauan on April 2015.
