Recently, news about a 29-year-old businesswoman who died from cosmetic surgery went viral all over different media platforms.
Shiryl Saturnino, the victim, allegedly passed away earlier this week due to unknown causes. It was later revealed that she died under the care of a cosmetic surgeon in a clinic located in Mandaluyong City.
According to the news, Shiryl died at around 3:21 am after undergoing liposuction, butt, and breast surgery. However, the actual cause of death hasn’t been revealed until earlier this day.
As stated in early autopsy reports, Shiryl died from “multiple organ failure secondary to complications of cosmetic surgical procedures.”
Since the autopsy reports have been released, the authorities may now proceed to file criminal charges against the medical personnel in question.
Doctors Samuel Eric Yapjuangco, the plastic surgeon, Jose Jovito Mendiola, the anesthesiologist, along with three nursing staff members will face charges of reckless imprudence.
The officials said that a more thorough autopsy report will be released after two weeks which means that additional charges may still be filed against the medical professionals.
Meanwhile, the medical staff of Icon Clinic has released medical records of the victim as well as her letter of consent and other related documents that may help them in defense of the case filed against them.
