As they say, you’ll never work a day in your life if you’re doing a job you love.
For 94-year-old Loraine Maurer, the 44 years she’s worked for a McDonald’s branch in her hometown of Evansville, Indiana has been a blessing.

In an interview with People Magazine, she says: “If you don’t like your job, it’s a job, but I love it. The people, the clientele, that’s why I stuck with it.”
As it stands, the hard-working and lively "Miss Loraine" (as everyone calls her) has no plans of retiring anytime soon.
When asked why she chose to continue with a relatively simple cashier job, Miss Loraine says she does it for the many friends she’s made in the regular customers who come in every day.
“My customers make my life. I have traveled with them, gone to ball games with them. They’re friends, not just customers,” Miss Loraine revealed.
In fact, many of the customers who’ve gotten close to the elderly worker will offer the lady a ride home at the end of her shift.
Chip and Katie Kenworthy, owners of the McDonald’s outlet where Miss Loraine works in, were so grateful for her continued service in the restaurant that they celebrated her 44 years as an employee.
The anniversary bash was attended by some of the McDonald's branch’s most loyal customers.

“After all these years, she remains committed to serving her customers with one of the most delightful smiles around. Loraine has a loyal following of customers and they look forward to having her take their orders when visiting McDonald’s,” the Kenworthy couple said.
