[Trending Now] Watch: Amy Perez's Housemaid Arrested After Stealing Her Expensive Items and Cash!

Popular Kapamilya variety show host Amy Perez made an appearance on the hit morning television show 'Umagang Kay Ganda' on Friday, February 17, 2017. However, the host/actress was not on the show as a guest host or to promote any projects. Amy's reason for being on the morning show was a serious one - to speak about an issue she is reportedly involved in. 

The issue in question is the reported arrest of a member of her household staff. A woman named Rose Besano, who was employed by Amy four years ago as a maid, was reportedly arrested by the police due to theft. 

The actress apparently learned this week that Besano had been stealing from them for a long time. The discovery was made by the actress and her husband after the suspect asked for a leave from work to supposedly go on a short vacation. 

When Besano left, the couple learned that she had failed to pay their village association dues, part of her duties as an employee in Amy's household. Their association dues were apparently left unpaid for about a year. Aside from that, investigations also revealed that Besano stole a few expensive watches from the actress that are believed to be worth about PHP 260,000. 

Amy appeared on 'Umagang Kay Ganda' on Friday to speak about the issue. She had the following to say about the arrest of her former housemaid: 

"Hindi ko ugali na magbukas ng social media ng ibang tao dahil personal na nila yun, pero nang sinilip ko, nagulat ako sa pictures niya doon meron nasa kama namin, suot niya mga damit at salamin ko. Nakakagulat."

Perez also added the following during her interview:

"Ang masakit sa akin affected ako, ang mga anak ko, kasi tiwala na kami sa kanya di na namin siya itinuring na iba. Kapag birthday niya sine-celebrate yan, kasama siya sa mga byahe namin, kasama ng mga bata, masakit sa amin lahat iyan."

Besano is now in the custody of the police. She has been charged with qualified theft after admitting to stealing a huge number of valuable items and cash from the actress.
