Recent controversy stirred when Kapamilya star Karen Reyes had disbanded from all-female group Girltrends due to personal reasons.
Karen,1st runner up of Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition 4 , made a recent appearance as a guest on ABS-CBN’s morning talk show “Magandang Buhay.”
During the show, she was asked by hostess Melai Cantiveros for any details surrounding her split from the “It’s Showtime” girl-group and the trending reason behind it.
She looked rather surprised and giggled at the question. Karen then confirmed what she had admitted to a previous interview, that she was unhappy working with the group.
“Umalis ako kasi hindi ako masaya.” Karen admits. “Yun naman po yung sinabi ko po, na hindi na ako masaya na nakakasama sila.”
However Karen wished to make certain details of her disbanding clear. She says that she doesn’t want to be a part of their group. The actress confirmed, as Melai suggested, that their age difference was a factor to their split.
She even says there was a lack of sisterly love.
“Nahihirapan din ako kasi parang, ah yun nga, wala yung sisterly love gayan,” Karen said.
When asked if she made any best friends, Karen said she didn’t make any ‘best’ friends but made a few friends nonetheless.
“Siguro hindi ko nabigyan ng chance na makilala silang lahat.” Karen admitted.
“Pero kasi ako parang, wala na akong panalon para, alam mo yun – gusto ko pagka-work tayo magwowork tayo. Kung aayusin natin ganyan,” she added.
As the other hosts Karla Estrada and Jolina Magdangal have said, like a relationship, if a person is unhappy with where she is then she should leave.
“You have to let go and move on,” Karla said
Karen confirms that she has nothing against Girltrends and that her departure from the group isn’t too personal an issue.
