A professor from Far Eastern University claims that the outcry for former president and dictator, Ferdinand Marcos, was undeserved, especially when compared to the heroic ceremony during the burial of former president Corazon Aquino.
In a post made on his personal account, Francis Rae Quilantang claimed that he covered the burial of Cory Aquino as a reporter.
He states that while Aquino was not buried in the Libingan ng mga Bayani, her funeral service was an ‘elaborate holiday parade’ fit for a hero. Quilantang states that Aquino did not deserve this send off.
“...I was there nung nilibing si Cory Aquino, I covered it as a reporter. And I don't see anyone protesting... (si Willie Revillame lang ata) ” Quilantang says.
The professor claims that Aquino had committed crimes herself and that all past presidents, herself included, have used their position to further their own agendas.
“Same goes with all the Presidents) pero sinisingle out nyo ung iisang tao. ” He added.
