[Trending Now] Unexpected End To President's Speech In Butuan: Police Officer Proposes to Duterte’s Aide-de-Camp!

“Have [sic] it been happen na kinasal tayo, hindi mangyayari ito na makapag-propose ako sa’yo before the President of the Republic and viewing public throughout the world”

These are the words of Police Senior Insp. Arvin Jumillo as he asked his girlfriend Police Senior Insp. Romea Alnieza Kinang her hand for marriage. Jumillo and Kinang have been in their relationship for more than 5 years.

Jumillo took the opportunity to propose in front of Pres. Rodrigo Duterte as the President gave his speech in Butuan last Thursday October 6. Kinang is Duterte’s aide-de-camp.

Jumillo asked permission from Pres. Duterte before he proceeds in his wedding proposal. He expressed how grateful he is for a rare opportunity like this where he can broadcast his love for his future wife.

“My beloved President sir, humihiling po ako ng tatlong minutes lang po sa ngalan ng pag-ibig, sir. I would like to take this, I would like to grab this very rare opportunity and perfect timing, sir. Lingid sa kaalaman ng nakararami, sir, iyong aide-de-camp n’yo, sir, si Police Senior Inspector Alnieza Kinang, sir, is my girlfriend for five years and 10 months already” said Jumillo with a shaky voice, an indication of being nervous.

The police officer then proceeded to share their love story. He narrated that they were supposed to marry this month but due to misunderstandings, they broke up and got separated. He then looked at the positive side of what happened and realized that it happened for a reason. He shared that if they got married too early, he will not have the opportunity to proclaim his love to Kinang in front of the Commander-In-Chief.

“Ganoon pa man, sir, I’m thankful na talagang everything happens for a reason. Have it been happen na kinasal tayo, hindi mangyayari ito na makapag-propose ako sa’yo before the President of the Republic and viewing public throughout the world” said Jumillo who receives loud cheer from the crowd.

He then talked to his future wife, assuring her the “forever” that they can have if she said “yes” to his proposal.

"Romea Alnieza Kinang, when you left me, I realized na for the past five years and 10 months na we've been together, na-realize ko na marami akong pagkukulang as your boyfriend. But don’t you worry, pakasalan mo lang ako, I still have forever para bumawi as your husband," Jumillo said with sincerity.

While the world and critics are busy finding faults in Pres. Duterte, Jumillo was busy cultivating the courage to let Pres. Duterte witness his vow of love for his fiancé.

Jumillo's proposal garnered thousands of reactions from the netizen. Some of them commend his courage while some of them interpreted that Jumillo was able to do that in front of Pres. Duterte because he is comfortable with him.
