Domestic violence happens around the world. In the Philippines alone, one in five Filipino Women experience physical violence. The statistics keep on increasing as years go by. On the other hand, about 20 people PER MINUTE are physically abused by their partner on average in the United States. 1 in 3 women experience this. Furthermore, some women experience emotional, verbal, economic sexual abuse which results to depression and sadly, sometimes in death. But they are not the only one who suffers. Children who witness this kind of violence are also affected as it creates a big impact on their lives.

For one, a 6-year-old kid in the United States went viral after she called 911 in the middle of physical abuse happening in their home. Lisa Floyd sounded extremely frustrated and pained while she was talking to the operator. She was panicking and hysterically crying. There were numerous times when she shouted "Stop!" as her stepfather beats her mother and siblings. She was able to explain that his stepfather was always drunk and he was always beating them including a baby.

Kit Gruelle, an advocate for domestic abuse survivors, found out many years later that the 6-year-old Lisa has led the same life and have been living with an abusing relationship as well. She then helped Lisa to get out of the relatonship and Lisa is now an advocate of domestic violence. Now, Lisa's recorded call is being used to educate people on the effects of domestic violence on children.
