Mark Anthony Fernandez, stepson of actress Lorna Tolentino, wife of late actor Rudy Fernandez was arrested in Pampanga for carrying a kilo of marijuana allegedly found on the passenger seat of his vehicle.

The actress is concerned that her stepson might have his rights violated as he was shown to the media without a lawyer. The actor then admitted that he was just about to buy some, which he uses to protect himself from cancer, when he was caught.

Tolentino did not much give further depth in her stride to seek legal advice for Mark's case 

Under the Republic Act No. 7438, or the Rights of Persons Arrested, Detained or under Custodial Investigation, “any person arrested detained or under custodial investigation shall at all times be assisted by counsel.”
