With his pink-framed mirror, Leonito Lopez rides his bike all over the rural place of General Tinio town, to bring perfectly-shaped eyebrows with his on-the-go 'Kilay Salon'.
The mobile 'kilay salon' is the business of the 78-year-old widower, who also offers haircuts and sells ice cream too! He is the living testimony of Filipino perseverance.
“Kailangan mag-sipag. Kung hindi ka mag-sipag ay gutom ang kalabasan mo ," Mang Leonito said.
Lopez started his business with only a pair of old scissors.
"Yun ang pinakamarangal na hanapbuhay, kasi hindi naman ako nakapag-aral ," he said.
Born in Capiz, Mang Leonito ran away from home and has been living in Manila since he was nine years old. He lived only in sidewalks and ate discarded products from the wet market of Divisoria before he had three children.
As of now, Manong Leonito lives alone in a small town in General Tinio, Nueva Ecija while his children are in Manila but visit him regularly. His a total income is P300-P600 per day.
