John Raspado’s wit and charm won over both the judges and audience, eventually landing him the title of Mr. Gay World Philippines.
The Baguio native was crowned Mr. Gay World Philippines 2016 at the University of the Philippines Theater in Quezon City.
Raspado also won other special awards namely Best in National Costume, Best in Casual Wear, and Mr. Gay World Philippines Popularity.
Back in 2014, he won the title of the first-ever “I Am PoGay.”
Khalil Vera Cruz of Zamboanga del Sur was named second runner-up, while John Bench Ortiz of Pangasinan was named first runner up.
Mr. Gay World is a global competition that aims to inspire and empower gay men by giving hopefuls a venue to "demonstrate that both inward beauty and physical appearance are equally important as is leadership and confidence" and to combat against homophobia in the world.
