After many controversial pronouncements made by President Rodrigo Duterte, he seemed to have mellowed on his recent speech last Sunday in the Indoor Stadium of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Brunei Darussalam. He credited God for his presidency and says that he subjects his plans to Him.
"Ang Diyos ang naglagay sa akin dito,"he said before thousands of Filipinos who were present.
He also said that his win was almost a "miracle" and said that he will work on how God wanted him to.
"Ang pagka-presidente ko, almost destiny. It's a miracle to me. He wants me to improve my country, stop corruption and make the lives of the Filipinos comfortable people,"
He is in the said country for a three-day state visit in which he was able to meet Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah. He aimed to seek potential business investments and gain the country's support on his administration's war against illegal drugs and terrorists.
He is set to fly to China tomorrow, Tuesday, to have bilateral talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping. He described this as the 'key turning point' on PH-China Relationship.
