President Rodrigo Duterte has arrived to Indonesia with a red carpet welcome and a special car for him from the Indonesia government to visit the Filipino community and to discuss bilateral matter and ties of two countries,

After the Association of Southeast Asian Nations or ASEAN Summit, President Duterte went to Indonesia for a one-day meeting where he was welcomed by the Indonesian government officials in Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport. It is his first-ever state visit as a president of the country.

After being welcomed at the airport, President Duterte went straight to high class Shangri-La hotel after a long day in the ASEAN Summit.

He is scheduled to meet Indonesian President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo today as they are expected to talk about a range of topics, from the Indonesians kidnapped by the extremist group Abu Sayyaf, the fate of Mary Jane Veloso who is still in death-row and still detained in Yogyakarta Prison, and the war against drugs which is also the advocacy of the Indonesian president.

At 11:30 am, he will meet with the Filipino community in Indonesia where he will make a speech. It would be followed by a wreath laying ceremony at the Heroes’ Cemetery at 2:15 pm.

Jokowi will also take Duterte to Tanah Abang in Central Jakarta, Southeast Asia's largest textile market.

After that, he will be welcomed at the State Palace then a joint press statement would follow. At 7 pm, Duterte will be honored at a state banquet before he leaves the airport heading for Davao City.

Duterte will then be welcomed at the State Palace by Jokowi at 3:00 pm before talks between the two. Their meeting will be followed by a joint press statement.

At 7:00 pm, Duterte will be honored at a state banquet also in the Palace before he leaves for the airport. He departs Jakarta at 9:00 pm for Davao City, Philippines
