Sunday, during the canonisation mass at St. Peter's square, Pope Francis have just declared revered nun Mother Teresa a saint.

"For the honour of the Blessed Trinity... we declare and define Blessed Teresa of Calcutta to be a Saint and we enroll her among the Saints, decreeing that she is to be venerated as such by the whole Church," the pope declared in Latin.

Mother Teresa was an Albanian-Indian nun and missionary who spent 40 years in Calcutta (Kolkata) an Indian city where she worked with the unfortunate and the dying. She was from Macedonia and lived for 18 years before moving to Ireland then to India.

She was also the founder of the Missionaries of Charity.
