Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Director General Ronald 'Bato' Dela Rosa is currently in Bogotta, Colombia for a conference called "Counter-Terrorism and Counter-Narcotics Exchange Conference" to study the country's best police strategies against illegal drugs.

According to Coconuts Manila, the police chief has been with the Colombian National Police Chief Jorge Hernado Nieto during his stay in the country.

When asked about the extension President Rodrigo Duterte asked for his six-month vow on freeing the country of illegal drugs, Dela Rosa told the media that the PNP's "frequency, intensity, magnitude" on warring with illegal drugs will remain consistent.

"Kaya nga binigyan tayo ng extension ng another six months para matapos talaga ito. Paano natin matatapos kung mag-slowdown tayo?" he said.

On the said conference organized by the United States Department of State in Colombia, Dela Rosa led a three-man PNP delegation, according to reports by Update Philippines. During his absence, Deputy Director General Francisco Uyami Jr. momentarily took over as Officer-In-Charge (OIC) starting September 19 up to September 23.

Dela Rosa along with his delegation flew via regular commercial flight last Sunday aiming to further study and address  regional issues on the emerging threat of terrorism, drug-terrorism and drug-trafficking.
