One of the toughest diseases to fight is Cancer. Treating cancer is very expensive and also painful.

But this 26-year-old actress from China did something different. Xu Ting did not want to spend her money on something that will hurt her so she turned to traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture and cupping.

Xu disclosed her condition via China’s popular social media platform Weibo and shared to her 300,000 followers that she did not chose chemotherapy because she wanted to “live every day happily.”

“I don’t want chemotherapy to torture me until I have beauty or talent left in me.” 

Xu went to a particular “healing master” who vows to oversee her daily sessions which includes cupping, acupuncture, bloodletting and scraping therapy.

The discussion online went up as debating if the Chinese Medicine is really valid. Before she passed away, Xu shared photos her account the frightening scars and injuries during her treatment. The treatment left her bruises that are circle in shape and her neck line filled with marks from scraping which is done with a plastic or metal spoon-like instrument.

The sister of Xu begins to blame the healing master for her sister’s passing away, calling him a ‘sham.’

A writer from Beijing Evening News wrote in defense of Chinese Medicine, saying “There are many cancer patients who pass away after receiving chemotherapy. Will these same people also say that Western medicine is a sham?”

Actually, Xu began her chemotherapy in mid-August however, her body and immune system is already weak thus, it is too later for her. Last September 7, she then passed away.
