It was a day of mourning for Kurdistan population as 'Angelina Jolie lookalike' Asia Ramazan Antar got murdered in a clash against the terror network of ISIS in Northern Syria. Antar is 22-years-old and is part of all-female Women's Protection Unit (YPJ), an all women group fighting ISIS in the Kurdish areas Syria's border with turkey and Iraq. They are under the Kursih People's Protection Units (YPG). They have 50,000 fighters in which 20% are women. They are mainly made up of Kurds and has been a key point to fighting extremists from the Turkish border.
She has been in many significant battles against ISIS before she was killed. 'We Want Freedom for Kurdistan' Facebook page shared that she was 'martyred in a battle against Daesh.'
Her death is yet to be verified although some reports has already claimed that she was killed in a battle between Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Turkish-backed Syrian opposition.
