On September 18, Kapuso actress Heart Evangelista shared how she met President Rodrigo Duterte for the first time, exactly four months after the 2016 elections, on her Instagram account.
The actress described their meeting as "pretty awesome" as she revealed that she and the President had a nice talk about her long-time passion of painting and about "other things." She captioned her post saying:
"Met with the president today... We had a nice chat about my art and other things ?? it was pretty AWESOME"
Evangelista also posted a photo of her and Pres. Duterte looking at snapshots of Evangelista's works of art on her mobile phone.
No information of the place of their meeting can be found on her posts. However, it can be interpreted that she visited the President in his home town in Davao, together with her husband Sen. Chiz Escudero. Additionally, the 31-year old actress also shared airport pictures of her and husband going to an undisclosed destination.
Though Sen. Chiz Escudero ran alongside Sen. Grace Poe as Poe's vice-president during the 2016 National Elections, Duterte's son, Paolo, endorsed Escudero's vice-presidential bid during the 2016 campaign period.
