Yesterday, girls were beyond devastated as news of Robert Pattinson's "coming out" spread like wildfire. Netizens were ambivalent on what to feel. 

The timing was a bit odd seeing as Kristen Stewart, Pattinson's ex-girlfriend, just came out as lesbian recently and is now in a relationship with a woman, Alicia Cargile, her assistant. In August, Stewart said: 

"I love her so much."

“I would never talk about any of my relationships before, but once I started dating girls it seemed like there was an opportunity to represent something really positive. I still want to protect my personal life, but I don’t want to seem like I’m protecting the idea, so that does sort of feel like I owe something to people.”

So you can just imagine the news of Pattinson's revelation rocked the world of every netizen. The articles even "quoted" Pattinson commenting on his alleged relationship with a model Brad Owens: "“I completely fell for this guy and at first I thought I was confused with my emotions and I did not want to let my female fans down …

 “But after careful consideration I felt it was best to come out to the public and confirm that I am gay.”

But fangirls everywhere should calm themselves as it turned out to be another HOAX! Phew! Apparently, some satirical website started the news which got picked up by other outlets which in turn, of course, went viral.

In related news, Facebook along with Twitter and Google has resolved to finding a way to address the worsening problem of clickbait journalism and hoax stories.
