[Trending Now] De Lima Takes The Side Of Inmate Jaybee Sebastian Saying He Is An Asset Of The Government!

On the House probe on the proliferation of drug activities inside the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) during Senator Leila De Lima's term as Justice Secretary, inmate and drug lord Jaybee Sebastian is being linked to De Lima claiming that the inmate had been pooling money inside the penitentiary for her senatorial campaign.

However, De Lima have reacted on the issue as she clarifies that Sebastian was indeed an asset of the government attesting the claims of Magdalo Party List Representative Gary Alejano.

"Yes, that’s true -- The reason why I’m saying he’s an asset is to dispel yung mga maling haka-haka, insinuations that the reason why hindi muna siya sinama sa Bilibid 19 is because favored, protektado and lalo na yung insinuations na yan siya kumolekta ng pera [para] sa akin," De Lima said.

She further challenged the committee responsible for the investigation on the alleged drug operation inside the penitentiary to invite the said convict to the inquiry.

"Let him address that. If he wants to testify, let him address that," De Lima said.

De Lima faced the heat on the House inquiry as NBP inmate Jaime Patcho testified against the senator claiming that Sebastian once called him inside his 'kubol' asking him to sell 10 kilos of drugs to raise money for his obligations to De Lima. He also noted that he saw De Lima twice as she visits Sebastian.
