Before dawn on Friday, fire started to spread in a house located at Marikina City wherein six family members, an 81 year-old grandmother and five of her grandchildren died inside.

Fire rescues raised the first alarm at around 2:30 a.m. after a fire was reported in the house being rented by the Gatchalian-San Juan and Alvarado families in Brgy. San Roque.

Although the firemen were able to arrive fast and immediately put out the fire within eight minutes upon their arrival, the victims failed to leave the house in time.

The six victims were identified as Gabriela Gatchalian, 81; her children Justine and Bryan; Justine's husband Allan Alvarado; and their children Samantha, 1, and Savanna Alvarado, 4.

At 3:09 a.m. fire rescues concluded fire out.

A netizen who knows the family personally posted his grief and condolences with a picture of Justine and Allan together with their children.
