Despite the many concerns of the President with his anti-drug campaign, he was also able to address the issue of tax in a speech at the 8th Infantry Division at Camp Lukban Catbalogan, Samar, yesterday, August 08, 2016.
He made a warning saying that millionaires in the country should pay their respective taxes. Quoting from his statement saying:

You're destroying the Filipino people.It will not happen during my watch for the six years kung maawa ang Diyos sa akin [at] paabutin ako. Huwag n'yo gawin iyan sa akin,"
It can be recalled that Duterte has accused one businessman named Roberto Ongpin of PhilWeb Corp as an oligarch. On the other hand, Ongpin resigned the day after he was accused.
