Chief Legal Counsel of the Palace, Salvador Panelo allegedly stated that the people's
support for the President is unwavering even amidst his threat of imposing martial law,
according to Benjie Liwanag of Super Radyo dzBB.claimed According to the report, Panelo claimed that even those he did not vote for Duterte during the last Presidential election is now behind his back.

Duterte opened up the possibilities of declaring martial law if the judiciary continued to
meddle with his fight against drugs and get in his way. He said this after Chief Justice Maria 
Lourdes Sereno sent a letter contradicting the President's move of publicizing the names of
alleged people involved in illegal drugs.

The list of the President included names of 7 judges, Sereno advised the said judges not to
make themselves "physically accountable" until a warrant of arrest have been presented.

The message infuriated the President that led him to saying: "If this continues, pigilan mo
ako, o di sige... Or would you rather that I declare martial law?"
Although Communications Secretary Martin Andanar have clarified Duterte's statement
saying it was a rhetorical question and not a threat.
