President Rodrigo Duterte have assured the families of the killed Philippine Navy personnel's during an anti-drug operation in North Cotabato that they will be given P250,000 each. Duterte announced this at the Bay 116 Terminal 3 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), during the wake of Navy Petty Officer 3 Darwin Espallardo.
"We are helping the family’s expenses and everything and they will get from my social fund Php250,000. I will deliver the money in about a week," Duterte told reporters.
He also told the families of the victim that the government will handle the schooling of their children.
Private 1st Class Jaypee Duran and Espallardo, Corporal Jose Miravalles were among those killed during a firefight as the government troops served a warrant to Commander Madrox for shabu distribution and heinous crimes in North Cotabato, in Midsayap town.
