Slander by Deed and Slight Physical Injury. These are the charges filed by one of the flight attendants of Cebu Pacific after a woman passenger berated and slapped her.

Madel Ty, was determined to file the case against the passenger Maria Vinceta Tello of ORC corner Sinsuat and Gutierrez Avenue, Cotabato City when he passed the complaint at the Davao City Prosecutor's Office.

In her affidavit, Ty detailed the encounter. She was the lead cabin crew member during that flight. According to her, Tello started to become aggressive when Grace Magtibay, one of the flight crews as well, asked her to stow her bag in the overhead bin. She explained that this is part of the safety protocols.

But Tello refused and cursed the flight attendant. “You ask us to wear seatbelts but you tell us to put the bags down. You job is to assist passengers. Go******t! So rude!”  Tello said.

This is where Ty intervened and apologized to Tello. But then, during the unloading, Tello waited for everyone to come down, approached Ty, and slapped her.

It was later found out that the aggressor is the wife of Sr. Supt. Agustin Juan Tello, the head of the PNP’s logistics and research division in ARMM.

Meanwhile, the airline released a statement banning Tello from their flights and said: “Following thorough investigation on this incident, CEB’s Blacklist Committee has decided that the passenger who carried out the assault will not be allowed to board any of CEB’s flights, until further notice,”
