[Trending Now] Caught On Cam: TORNADO HITS MANILA; 2 Were Injured and 100 Houses Destroyed. HORRIBLE!

Metro Manila and other provinces have been under dark clouds for the past week. Heavy rains were non-stop brought by the southwest monsoon and was characterized by humid weather and strong winds. 

But much to the surprise of everyone, a much horrible phenomenon happened yesterday in Manila where a tornado was caught in the video by a netizens. In the time lapse video captured by netizens Karen Daphne Madrigal, the tornado lasted for about 10 seconds before it disappeared.It went through Sampaloc and went to Quiapo and Baseco. Despite its short length, 2 were injured and almost 100 houses have been destroyed because of the tornado according to Johnny Yu, chief of Manila Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO). 

Tornados are formed when moist air and dry air masses meet and creates instability in the atmosphere. They create a change in wind direction and increase in the wind speed characterized by increasing height. This results to horizontal spinning effect in the lower atmosphere.

Meanwhile, MDRRMO is now coordinating with the barangay captains of the affected locations and to different agencies for help.
